I became a licensed MLO or Mortgage Loan Originator in 2020. My NMLS number is 2079403. I was in direct lending for the first two years. After that, I moved over to the broker side and love it here. Being a broker enables me to provide more loan choices and selections.
Prior to becoming an MLO, I founded and ran a service related business for 14 years before selling it just weeks before Covid hit in February of 2020. During the early years of the service business, I also had another business building custom homes. I built (6) custom homes that (according to Zillow) are all now valued right around or just over one million dollars each. As you know, building completely stopped with the economic downturn of 2008. I was able to carry on for a little while but building eventually came to a halt for me too. Prior to running these two businesses, I was a commercial construction project manager for a number of years completing numerous projects throughout Chicago and the suburbs.
Outside of work, for relaxation, I play a little guitar. I really enjoy playing tennis and I play three times a week. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m (just a bit) competitive. I play at the 4.0 level, if you know that that means.
I’ve been very blessed to be married to Julie for over 31 years and have loved every minute of it, acknowledging there were a few times early on that were “growing” experiences. I’ve learned to appreciate those times too as they helped build an even deeper relationship between us.
At home I’ll do the odd jobs and repairs in and around the house myself, carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting etc., you name it, I’ll do it. I even put this website together…starting from a template of course. I’m not afraid to tackle almost any job.
Out in the yard, I mainly just cut the grass, and Julie is the one with a green thumb. She maintains several nice flower beds around the house and three different types of bird feeders.
The buck stops here. When it comes to spending, I live in two worlds. First, I’m disciplined and discerning with a touch of frugal thrown in. But other times, I will, after doing thorough research, select the best, with all the bells and whistles.
I’m a lifelong learner and as already mentioned, I am not afraid to learn about and try something new. It gives me great satisfaction when I achieve success at something new. For the few times that I’m not successful, I’ll dig in deeper and try even harder until I get it done right. As mentioned, I am competitive, even with myself.
I am accountable and trustworthy, and I accept responsibility for my actions. When I’m working for you, I keep your best interests in mind and communicate regularly so you’re always in-the-know.
