I’ll start right off by saying it disappoints me to see “About Me” pages that are full of sales talk or talk about the company and they don’t really say anything with meaning about themself as a person. I became a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator in 2020. My NMLS number is 2079403. I was in retail or direct lending for the first two years. Then, three years ago, I moved to the broker side.
Prior to that I founded and ran a service related business for 14 years before selling it in February of 2020. During the early years of that service business, I also had another business building custom homes. I built (6) homes that (according to Zillow) are all now valued right around one million dollars each. Building completely stopped with the economic downturn of 2008. Prior to these two businesses, I was a commercial construction project manager completing numerous projects throughout Chicago and the suburbs.
Outside of work, for relaxation, I play a little guitar. I enjoy playing tennis three times a week. Admittedly, it’s more than enjoying a casual game of tennis here and there because I’m (just a bit) competitive.
I’ve been very blessed to be married to Julie for over 31 years and have loved (almost) every minute of it. The few minutes that I didn’t love…I’ve learned to appreciate as they helped build an even deeper relationship between us.
I’ll do the odd jobs and repairs in and around the house myself, carpentry, plumbing, electric, patching, painting etc., you name it, I’ll do it. I even put this website together, starting from a template of course.
I’m not afraid to tackle almost any job. Out in the yard, I mainly just cut the grass, and Julie is the one with a green thumb. She maintains the nice flower beds around the house and three different types of bird feeders.
The buck stops here. When it comes to spending, I live in two worlds. First, I’m disciplined and discerning with a touch of frugal thrown in. But other times, I will, after doing thorough research, select the best, with all the bells and whistles.
I’m a lifelong learner and as already mentioned, I am not afraid to learn and try something new. It gives me great satisfaction when I achieve success at something new. For the few times that I’m not successful, I’ll often dig in deeper and try even harder until I get it done or make it work. I am competitive, even with myself.
I believe I am a savvy negotiator. It’s just one of the skills I developed from past employment. There is a fine line between being a skilled negotiator and being overbearing. I know. I crossed that line once and lost the deal because of it. I learned from that experience and won’t repeat it. And lastly, I am accountable and trustworthy, and I accept responsibility for my actions.
